Stranded on a Mountain Road in a Blizzard | A Perilous Fight for Life in the Cascades
On November 18, 2006, 37-year-old Daryl Jane set out from Bainbridge Island toward Trout Lake, Washington, driving his trusty Jeep Cherokee into the Cascades. The plan was simple: a night with friends, a drum circle, and back home in time for the Seahawks game. But winter had other ideas. Choosing the direct route along the infamous NF-23 road, Jane drove straight into a mounting snowstorm. The forest grew white and silent, the road vanished, and soon his Jeep was stuck fast—snow piling higher, cell service gone, and no one else in sight. What began as a weekend trip became a desperate fight for survival in the frozen wilderness. 0:00 Introduction 0:38 Daryl Jane's Trip to Trout Lake 6:04 Stuck and Stranded in a Snowstorm 17:53 Rescue and Aftermath 26:19 Conclusion/Survival Tips Join the Outdoor Disasters Patreon for narration only videos and early access: / outdoordisasters Be the fuel behind Outdoor Disasters!
