This Sunday, too, the Lord's teaching takes on a distinctly parabolic character. Indeed, Jesus utters three parables. The setting, perhaps, is Peter's house, although the inspiration for the teaching of the three parables may have been the time spent that morning in the bay known as the Bay of the Sower, located not far from the city of Capernaum and still remembered by this name. The sunny imagery of the bay, with the calm waters of the lake and the surrounding lands, could certainly have inspired the themes of the three parables: the treasure, the pearl, and, finally, the net cast into the sea. Jesus spent hours speaking in the sower's cove, his gaze taking in all the beauty of the varied lands that slope down to the sea, likely inspiring him with the parables of the treasure hidden in the field and the precious pearl. The inlet of the lake and the boat on which he preached, or another fishing boat, may have inspired the parable of the net cast into the sea. Now, having returned home, Jesus wants to offer his friends a reflection that recalls the two primary activities in the lake area: agriculture and fishing, helping them to trace the work of man to the great truths of the Kingdom of God, contained in the three similes. Indeed, rereading the parables, we can see the profound change in the anonymous protagonists, seeing how, after discovering the hidden treasure, the precious pearl, or after fishing abundantly, they renounce everything to secure possession of these goods, which allude to the immense riches of the Kingdom of God. So, we ask ourselves: how can we explain the Kingdom of God to those who do not know it? Jesus does so in many ways, and above all through many parables that present us with ever new and beautiful images of the discovered Treasure. But the Kingdom of God is Love. Only by loving and knowing, indeed, experiencing the love of God within us, can we truly touch, not with our hands but with our hearts, this Kingdom of God that Jesus still reveals and communicates to each and every one today. So, how can we connect with Jesus? How can we live "Heart to Heart" this vital communion of love with Him? We can all do it! Rebuilding broken bridges with God, thanks to the sacraments: first, confession; and then, the full encounter with Christ: during Holy Mass, when we can eat his "Bread of Heaven and drink his Blood that gives life and divinizes us." And we can immediately feel the effects in our hearts: peace, joy, love, and surrender to God are the signs of his presence. A renewed presence that regenerates us from within. This, for us, is the Kingdom of God that Jesus proclaimed to the people of Israel. And then we understand that words are not enough to perceive the richness of this Seed, or Pearl, or Hidden Treasure, or Net cast into the sea. Only the experience of the Kingdom, the interior experience that occurs within us, can give us an idea of ​​the living, invisible, dynamic, and loving action of this God who fills us with his divine love. The words we read in the Gospel are an expression of the Father's love for His Son Jesus and for us: "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."
