One parent continued to demand medical expenses from the teacher even after receiving compensation twice from the School Safety Mutual Aid Association for treatment costs following a child's hand injury during class. In particular, it is reported that the teacher contacted the parent even while serving in the military and demanded a meeting upon his return to work; ultimately, the teacher reportedly paid the parent a total of 4 million won out of his own pocket in eight installments of 500,000 won per month. The police, who launched an investigation, have secured four mobile phones belonging to the teacher in question and are currently conducting forensic analysis. They also plan to continue questioning school officials, including the principal and vice-principal at the time, with the key issue being whether the parent coerced them.
