In it, government decisions are not made directly by citizens but by people chosen by them for that purpose. Which govern in the interest and on behalf of the people. That is, they represent us. This principle is characterized by; Universal suffrage: All citizens have political rights, among which are the right to vote for their representatives (active suffrage) and to be elected as such (passive suffrage).
