Eighteen watchtowers were built here during the time of the 22nd Governor-General Sebastian Hurtado de Corcuera when Moro pirates raided the island looking for slaves. Naging kilala ang isla ng Bantayan dahil sa Napakaganda, mula sa mga mapuputing buhangin at mga Nag-gagandahang Tanawin. Na ito mismo ang Dahilan na Na-uudyok ang mga Torista na pumunta sa Bantayan. Ngunit alam niyo Ba? Na noong unang panahon ay isa ang isla natin sa namaituturing na pinaka-maunlad at mayaman. Bago paman Dumating ang mga kastila sa iba't-ibang Bahagi ng kapulo-an sa pilipinas.
