Hero Maverick 440 | 2-Year Ownership Review | 13,000 KM Honest Verdict After 2 years and 13,000 kms, I don’t regret owning the Hero Maverick 440. Let’s get the facts straight. 4 service intervals done Total service cost: approx. ₹10,000 City mileage: 25–29 km/l Strong torque, smooth power delivery This bike delivers serious value. No other brand was offering a 440cc machine at the price Hero introduced it. That’s a fact. What I Like: Tight turning radius — surprisingly easy in city traffic Upright riding posture — comfortable for long rides 150-section rear tyre — solid road presence Base exhaust note — deep and satisfying High torque makes city riding effortless What Went Wrong: The bike had a sensor issue that affected the oil pump, which led to opening the engine for repairs. That wasn’t pleasant. Also, the model is now discontinued — which raises long-term concerns. Other small misses: Instrument cluster feels small Hero badging on the left handlebar looks unnecessary Despite the issues, I’d still rate it 8/10. Because for the money it was offered at, the Maverick 440 delivered performance and torque that genuinely stood out. This is not a hype review. Just real ownership experience.
