Bleeptwig // Live modular session

Live modular jam session. Just for fun. Creating some material for the Cities and Memory Spring project - featuring a sample of birdsong, insects and chatter from the Goettingen Insect Hotel recorded by Gilberto Mazzoli for Cities and Memory. The overall recording on this stream was sadly super quiet - still learning here. A few moments emerged here that set the direction for the final piece: 24:07 Sometimes a long jam is all worth it for a single, subtle, beautiful change like this - which ended up being my intro 8:50 And this (for an outro) And a few other bits of magic. Listening back to the jam for usable material those moments led to the idea of exploring how these resonance suggest a map or navigation, with the listener taken on a journey around the insects' world at a super slowed pace, before coming back to where started.
