Good afternoon from the bustling city of Mumbai! Today, I’m on my way to the airport to embark on an exciting flight across India with Air India, the flag carrier. They've been undergoing a massive restructuring, aiming to become a leading global airline. I’ll be flying to Delhi on their Boeing 777-300ER, a flagship aircraft that still operates ultra-long-haul routes to the US. This short domestic flight was packed with surprises—from the smooth check-in, no lines at security, to the full hot meal served on board! While the in-flight entertainment system worked this time, it was outdated and had limited content, but the seat layout offered more comfort than expected with great legroom, a footrest, and a water bottle holder. Air India is changing fast, with plans to retrofit their 777s in 2025. I recently flew their new Airbus A350-900 and it felt like a whole new airline. For short trips, Air India’s service is great, but for long-haul? Not quite there yet.
