The Best Food In Oakland: My Top 4 Oakland Restaurants!

Episode 11 brings me to Oakland, California where my local, Angela aka "Aunt Angela" introduces me to the best food in Oakland. These are my top 4 Oakland restaurants from that trip. All four of these Oakland restaurants are iconic food spots and have been around for many years. We started this Oakland food tour at Bakesale Betty, a pop up Oakland restaurant on 51st and Telegraph. The only thing you'll find here is a delicious fried chicken sandwich and an assortment of baked goods. Bakesale Betty is known for her strawberry shortcake but you can get cookies and pies too! There's no indoor seating at this Oakland restaurant so you'll have to take a seat outside and eat on top of her crafty ironing board tables. When you visit Oakland, make sure to stop by Flip N Soul on east 21st and 14th Ave. This "filipino N soul" Oakland food spot has daily new menus and local favorites such as lobster tail & salmon, fried chicken & shrimp, chicken adobo, roasted crab, and $1 lumpia. These next two iconic Oakland food spots are located on Broadway right outside of Jack London Square. Everett and Jones BBQ and the original Home of Chicken & Waffles has been serving for over 50 years. Try the Lord BJ or the Gordon's Bank for iconic fried chicken, mac n cheese, and of course waffles. If you're still hungry, I recommend staying in Jack London Square for more Oakland restaurants, or cross the bridge into San Francisco for even more food options.
