Report by Serambi Indonesia Journalist Sa'dul Bahri | West Aceh SERAMBINEWS.COM, MEULABOH – Prof. Dr. Nyak Amir, S.Pd., M.Pd. was officially elected as Rector of Teuku Umar University (UTU) for the 2026-2030 period in the rector election held in the UTU Senate Meeting Room on Thursday (June 25, 2026). The professor, who currently serves as Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs at UTU, received the majority support of the senate and representatives from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. According to the vote count, Prof. Nyak Amir received 24 votes, or 85.71 percent of the total votes cast. Meanwhile, his competitor, Dr. Ir. Irwansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPM., received four votes, or 14.29 percent. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Iskandar AS., S.Pd., M.App.Ling. did not receive any votes.
