For this project, I’m combining elements from the Roycycled Scrappy Christmas Decoupage Paper and Angels Masterboard Decoupage Paper to create holiday artwork that feels festive without being limited to Christmas. These versatile designs can inspire projects throughout the year. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to: • Prepare a wood panel for decoupage • Create a rich brown halo beneath translucent tissue paper • Use the misting method to reduce wrinkles in decoupage paper • Repair a small tear or imperfect edge • Pour a quick-curing resin frame using a decorative mold • Make selected parts of a decoupage design appear more opaque • Build a layered faux-rust finish with acrylic paint and texture powder • Highlight raised details with copper metallic paint • Add depth and dimension to decorative castings You’ll also see why extra layers are often the secret to creating a rich, dimensional painted finish—and why an imperfect moment doesn’t mean your project has failed!
