CROWBAR on Robbs MetalWorks 2024

The New Orleans metal scene is both revered & legendary; not only because of its LONG history & relevant personalities, but more so, because they have cultured their own identity since the very beginning; AND, it continues till this day with bands like, BRAT. It encompasses a Southern swagger (& a deep end sludge) that in its early stages was both dangerous & precarious. I've experienced it firsthand over the years, as our cameras crossed paths with the likes of Jimmy Bower, Ben Falgout, Phil Anselmo, Sammy Duet & of course one its MOST respected songwriters (& voices) in Mr. Kirk Windstein of Crowbar. Kirk's accolades are too many to summarize here but his history in the New Orleans scene dates back to 1988 & since that time his consistency to produce some of the genres most memorable records is impeccable; from his numerous releases with Crowbar, to his contributions to the supergroup known as Down, to his unlikely collaborations with Jamey Jasta in Kingdom of Sorrow - one item is certain. You can ALWAYS hear Kirk's style, tone & approach in anything he touches; THAT'S what makes him SPECIAL & exclusive. SO, when Kirk & company decided to end the year with a final run across the country - I knew it was about time to have a sit down with the man.
