Diesel Exhaust Filter Full… Dealership wants $2000 to fix it!!

About a month before we were to hit the road for summer travel, our check engine light came on with an error message “Exhaust Filter Full, Power Reduced, See Dealership”. I was not a happy camper to say the least. I called the dealership only to be told we needed to drop off the truck for a week… (they wouldn't even look at it for at least four days) and though they couldn’t give me a solid answer, they said it could cost between $1,500 to $4,000 to fix the problem. Funny enough, there really wasn’t that much information on line for a DIY solution. After weeks of research Dawn and I found a number of solutions including one that actually worked!
