O MUNDO SUMIU EMBAIXO DOS MEUS PÉS

I already knew that when I set out on this incredible journey to see the world, I would also embark on an incredible journey of inner discovery. I knew I would face the adventures along the way and be very happy with my choices. I was very surprised when Carol and Rhazes invited me to practice stand-up paddleboarding with them. Right away I said I had never done it before and that I also don't know how to swim. Since I had a life jacket and they both know how to swim, I felt safe, so let's go discover the limits of my 54-year-old body, haha! Well before getting in the water, Rhazes went over the theory, the instructions I should follow while in the water. Once everything was explained and understood, it was time for practice. Leaving your comfort zone can be very dangerous because you might like this outside world too much and never want to go back to your old life. You might discover that intergenerational conflicts can be minimized if both sides are willing to exchange information. We all have something to learn, we all have something to teach. And that's how I spent a wonderful morning, doing something very enjoyable and safe for someone over 50. Of course, the first time I got on the board I only stayed a few seconds before falling; lifting my 77 kilos in the water was very difficult. I see I need to lose weight urgently. The second and third times I got on it, it was a little easier; at least I wasn't shaking like I was on a piece of jelly anymore. Throwing yourself into something new and unexpected, something that's a real adventure, takes you out of your comfort zone and your arrogance. Before getting on that board, I could already feel my ego speaking louder, telling me that everyone would be amazed by my skill. Hahahaha
