A regional dance, The Shag is the state dance of South Carolina. It has, however, expanded to all other parts of the south. The Walkers say that The Shag is more than just a dance, it’s a social way of life. They explain that they will be teaching only the basics. Dave points out that this is just their interpretation of the dance; that a lot of people do things differently, but this is their version. The Walkers then visually demonstrate the entire dance they will be teaching.
