Sundews | The Sticky and Carnivorous World of Droseras
Drosera are another fun genus of carnivorous plants to grow. Their long leaves are covered with tentacles, tipped in a sticky dew. For a small insect this sudden death! Constantly wet and sitting in water is the keys to keeping this genus happy. Tuberous types and some of the highland tropics types can be more difficult, but overall an easy genus to grow. Temperate types can be grown outdoors in bog gardens and the Torpicals indoors under lights. Peat and sand is the preferred medium choice. I like to mist them once a month with fish emulsion to them robust. I hope you enjoy!
