KOTO is known as a young and revolutionary Shinobue (Japanese bamboo flute) player. "Evolution" is her first original album in three years. In this album, KOTO collaborate with piano trio and wadaiko, presenting the new possibility of Shinobue's sound. Musical instruments are used to creat various sound in nature from the singing of the bird to the roar of the storm in this album. The music video for the lead track Evolution was filmed in the Tengu Hornbeam community with special permission from Kita-Hiroshima city council. The community is a protected habitat and only part of the area is opened to public.
