Original Swiss «Bircher Muesli» Recipe 1 serving (97kcal/100g – 290kcla per serving) Ingredients: 1 Tbsp Oats (12g) 3 Tbsp Water (26g) 1 Tbsp Condensed milk with sugar (15g) 1-2x Apples (200g) ½ Lemon, juice (40g) 1 Tbsp Nuts, grounded (14g) (for example: Almonds, Hazelnuts or Walnuts) Preparation method: Mix the oats, water and the condensed milk in a small bowl. Squeeze the lemon and add the juice to the other ingredients. Wash the apples and grate them whole on a «Bircher-Raffel» until nothing but the stalk, calyx and some seeds are left. Try to grate as much of the edible parts as possible. (If you don’t have a “Bircher-Raffel”, just use any fine grater) Mix as soon as possible after grating in the apples, otherwise they will oxidize. Add the ground nuts on top and enjoy. Notice: You can also mix the oats and the water and leave them to soak in the fridge for one night, the oats will be softer and easier to digest, is said to be.
