New Armadillo Horizon Hard-shell Rooftop Tent from 23ZERO - walkthrough video
23ZERO has launched its new side-opening Armadillo Horizon series of rooftop tents, the company's most refined hardshell designed for trail warriors, weekend adventurers, and full-time overlanders delivering rapid deployment, rugged durability, and a level of interior comfort that redefines life on the trail. The Armadillo Horizon represents a breakthrough in rooftop tent engineering, combining the most popular features from 23ZERO's proven Kabari PRO, Armadillo X, and Armadillo A models into a single, aerodynamically optimized platform. The four-season tent features a truly unique shell design, handcrafted, sanded, and powder-coated into a single, aerodynamic piece, contoured to complement modern rigs and withstand headwinds and harsh elements alike. The fully welded 14-gauge aluminum shell with rounded corners is engineered to slice through headwinds while maintaining trail-tough construction. "We've taken years of customer feedback and real-world testing to create what we believe is the ultimate hardshell rooftop tent," said CEO and Founder Justin Dowey of 23ZERO. "What sets the Armadillo Horizon apart is the unique hand-crafted shell design and innovative H-Frame. It sets up fast due to the self-deploying front weather cover and self-inflating mattress. It delivers comfort and functionality with built-in power, lighting, and storage. And our unique, sustainable yet ultimately durable fabric with LST is unmatched - it’s what serious overlanders demand for extended adventures." The tent's innovative H-frame design lifts up and out, away from the tent body, providing additional internal space compared to traditional side-opening rooftop tents. It means you can sleep with your head at either end and, with accessories, such as awnings, can be mounted much closer to the tent body. The gas strut-assisted H-frame enables swift setup and takedown, while the time-saving, self-deploying front hoop eliminates assembly of separate and messy components. Premium comfort features include a plush 2.5-inch self-inflating mattress with dual fill ports, oversized D-shaped windows with weather canopies and ultra-fine insect mesh, and a transparent skylight for stargazing. The tent utilizes 23ZERO's proprietary ECO13B fabric, which is 100% certified recycled 900D Polyester Oxford. It’s produced using recycled PET bottles, resulting in huge energy savings as well as significantly less fresh water, petroleum, and chemical use during fiber production. Subsequently, ECO13B is naturally more resistant to water, mold, stains, abrasions, and tears. ECO13B also features 23ZERO’s revolutionary LST™ (light suppression technology), an advanced UV-blocking polyurethane coating that reduces 99% of light penetration and maintains up to 15% cooler temperatures inside the tent. Keeping interiors cooler and darker means sleeping in while camping is now possible, even during peak summer conditions. The Armadillo Horizon delivers real-world utility with an integrated 4-inch duct port supporting diesel heaters and portable A/C units, a prewired 12V power hub with USB-A, USB-C, and 12V socket connections with Anderson plug, and a 59” dimmable LED light bar with white and amber modes. Extensive storage solutions include overhead 6-pocket lofts, bedside pockets, hanging organizers, and built-in boot bags. Dual T-slot roof rails accommodate an additional 50 pounds of gear, including solar panels and recovery equipment. Available in two configurations – the Horizon 2 (two-person) and Horizon 3 (three-person) – the new tent targets overlanders, off-roaders, camping enthusiasts, and outdoor families seeking premium vehicle-based camping solutions. The Armadillo Horizon is available now through 23ZERO's website at www.23ZERO.com or from one of its authorized dealers nationwide.
