The most economical way to send instrument signals to the FOH mixer and the monitor mixer during a show is through a passive splitter. This splitter receives the signal from an instrument and duplicates it through two outputs: one for the FOH mixer and one for the monitor mixer. In fact, it's equivalent to using multiple Y-cables, but it's much more convenient and professional.
