Cambodia: Walking, nature & historical sites

A tour of Cambodia, 22/12/19 - 04/01/20. I toured historical sites such as Angkor Wat and the rest of Angkor and Wat Nokor. I saw wildlife and nature at the Elephant Valley Project, spotting endangered freshwater dolphins and walking in the Andong Kraloeng forest. I visited the cities of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap and smaller settlements on the islands of Koh Dach and Koh Trong. There are the sights along the roads and rivers in between, strange things to eat, markets, temples, a lotus farm, Koh Paen Bamboo Bridge and of course the Killing Fields and Genocide Museum. For me, the highlight of the tour was the Elephant Valley Project. I had lots of extra footage from EVP not used in the video of the full tour and found it to be relaxing to watch the elephants meandering freely through the forest munching leaves and learning to be wild elephants. So I made an extended version of that day:    • Elephant Valley Project extended play   When I booked this group tour organised by Explore in February, it was advertised as guaranteed to run. Late October they told me they only had two people booked, and offered me the chance to switch to a different date or trip as the other person booked had decided to do. I had been looking forward to some parts of the trip all year. I had also hugely enjoyed the quiet and freedom of two self-guided walks I'd done alone earlier that year. This opportunity seemed like a god-send! I told the tour company that I was happy to proceed as the only one on the trip, and true to the guaranteed booking I was able to experience an organised tour with two top rate guides (one at a time) all to myself and the schedule tweaked to my preferences. This was my last trip abroad before the Covid-19 pandemic put my travel plans on hold for a bit.
