Today I’ll be talking to David Fain, an Animator, Editor, Director and Writer who’s worked in Animation for over 30 years, and whose work includes writing on Spongebob Squarepants, Stop Motion Animator/Writer/Director on KaBlam/Action League Now, Animatic Editor on GI Joe Renegades and Transformers Prime and Transformers Earthspark. David and Josh discuss how networking behind the scenes got the two of them to the same studio, where they met and finally joined the Editor's Guild. David goes into detail about working on the Nickelodeon series Action League Now! and SpongeBob Squarepants in the early days. Throughout, Josh and David discuss the intricacies of editing in animation, particularly the differences between animatic editing and picture or final animation editing, and their opinions on the world of sound design.
