All bodies deserve to be recognized in marketing. Unfortunately, for people of larger size, that is not the current reality. There are only a handful of agencies in this country that sign talent above a size 22, let alone with bodies that are not hourglass. There is virtually no representation for visibly plus talent and therefore they are often overlooked in mainstream marketing and entertainment. Representation can feel like such a small consideration as a business or brand, but to consumers it is an invitation - it is a business saying we view all bodies as aspirational and as potential customers, who are valued here.
