You need to remove those and separate the spoiler from the hatch after you disconnect the light wiring from inside the hatch after removing the interior panels as shown in this video. Once the spoiler is off, there should be 2 nuts holding the light in. Just for clarification, that's a brake light only. It does not function as a tail light.
