Lahanpan Dega Deva (लाहानपण देगा देवा) Lahanpan Dega Deva is Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s beautiful prayer—not to become a child again, but to become free of ego and rediscover the innocence, humility, and unconditional love of a child. The inspiration for this tune came from an unexpected place. A few years ago in 2023, while I was in Tampa, Florida, I spent time with a seven-month-old puppy named Layla. Watching her love so freely and live so completely in the moment reminded me of Tukaram Maharaj’s words, “लहानपण दे गा देवा.” The melody flowed almost instantly. Recently in 2026, we filmed this music video in Goa with young children, whose joy and innocence beautifully reflected the spirit of this timeless abhang. I hope this rendition reminds you that true greatness lies not in becoming bigger, but in becoming smaller in ego and richer in love.
