building whatever I want // project ideas: easy, med, hard

I’ve officially wrapped up my first beginner Rust project (the weather CLI), and now it’s time to dive even deeper. For my second project, I’m moving away from straightforward APIs and diving into something a bit more fundamental: building a shell from scratch. In this video, I’m breaking down my roadmap for scaling the difficulty of my Rust projects. We're talking about why I chose to build a shell, how I’m using CodeCrafters to guide the process, and the other "mid-size" project ideas I was considering like browser extensions, a YouTube-DL wrapper, and AI-assisted tab completions. I also share my long-term plan for mastering the fundamentals, including building a load balancer, an interpreter, and eventually, a compiler. ⟡˖ Watch Live I live stream the entire process of learning Rust and building these projects every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 12pm PT.
