What is Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project I National Project Status for ERCP I Drishti IAS

The Rajasthan government has allocated Rs 13,000 crore for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project in the state Budget announced on Friday. But the state wants the Centre to share the cost of the project. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has demanded the national project status for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). ERCP is planned to meet drinking and industrial water needs of the southern and south eastern Rajasthan, for humans and Livestock till the year 2051.
