This week, 500 welcomes Dawala. Dawala was born in Paris in the mid-70s. Originally from Mali, his parents decided to send him back home to live with his grandmother when he was one year old. After nearly 10 years in Mali, Dawala returned to the capital and adapted to his new environment. Not speaking French when he arrived, he had to work incredibly hard to catch up. Passionate about football, he played for clubs in his home region, which helped him become more social. Considered a "big brother" by the younger kids in his neighborhood, Dawala started out producing their shows for fun before taking this pastime seriously. It was the late 90s when the PSG compilation (pure ghetto sound) appeared, featuring numerous headliners and becoming his musical calling card. Years later, he produced the remarkable album by Intouchables. Years later still, he met the Parisian underground group Sexion d'Assaut. Together, they will climb the ladder, reaching fame and finally, success...
