From there, we stroll through the bustling Brixton Market, a lively and colourful hub where food, fashion and community come together, famous for its Caribbean produce, street food and local vendors. Next, we pass by the majestic Lambeth Town Hall, a landmark of civic pride and continue toward the Ritzy Cinema, one of the oldest picture houses in London and a beloved cultural venue. Just nearby stands the African and Caribbean War Memorial, the first of its kind in the UK, honouring the sacrifices of Black servicemen and women. Our walk also takes us to the Black Cultural Archives, the only national heritage centre dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating the histories of African and Caribbean people in Britain. Finally, we find a moment of calm at St. Matthew's Gardens and Church, a peaceful green space offering reflection in the heart of the city.
