軽やかに書くには？｜春の詩文書で大切な運筆と余白の考え方【書濤2026.5月号 解説⑦条幅】

This time, using a spring poem (published in the May 2026 issue of "Shoto") as a subject, we explain how to write in a way that creates a light and refreshing impression without feeling heavy. The key is to create flow with soft movements that utilize the tip of the brush, rather than pressing down hard on the brush. However, using only light lines will result in a monotonous and flat impression. By weaving in moderately restrained, "calm lines," the entire work gains rhythm and depth. It's important to be mindful of the balance between light, flowing parts and parts that require careful attention, and to vary your brushwork accordingly. Also, this time, as a technique to make the work look neater, we introduce an example written using a smaller brush.
