This is a big question for many traders in the financial market. Much is said about trading with the trend, but for many, this becomes very subjective in practice. In the market, there are primary, secondary, and tertiary trends according to Dow Theory. And for day trading, we mostly use secondary and tertiary trends. It's with this alignment of trends that a professional trader can make assertive trades in favor of the trend in the financial market. When you're going to take a trade in favor of an upward trend, you usually end up trading against the micro trend, and then going in favor of the macro trend. So, how do you take trades with SMC analysis in favor of the trend? Well, in the smart money concept, we have test movements in a trend called mitigation movements. And a mitigation movement needs to have inductions (inducement from SMC analysis), which are the manipulations of price movements and liquidity captures in day trading. Therefore, when we have an upward trend and the price starts to fall, making a correction of that trend, we can take a trade in favor of this upward flow if there are inductions in this correction movement (mitigation movement). These inductions that validate a trade in favor of the trend using SMC analysis occur, for example, when the price captures liquidity below a significant low known as SSL - Sell-side liquidity in SMC analysis, or below level lows, known as EQL - Equal Lows in SMC analysis. In other words, we need liquidity captures below these lows when the price corrects the upward trend to enter a trade in favor of that trend and follow the flow. However, capturing liquidity in day trading isn't just about that. A post-liquidity capture trading opportunity is needed to provide confirmation (confirmation entry in SMC analysis) to set up the trade and move in favor of the upward trend, in this example. A trading opportunity that aligns with liquidity capture in day trading is, for example, a CHoCH (change of character) in SMC analysis, which is the change of character of the smart money concept. This CHoCH movement within the smart money concept, occurring after liquidity capture and directing the price in favor of the trend flow, represents a highly assertive trading opportunity within SMC analysis. The entry point for trades within the smart money concept occurs in order block regions. A strong order block needs to have the right characteristics to be a true order block and hold prices. A CHoCH needs a strong order block as an entry point for day trading to provide a highly assertive trading opportunity. In this video, I explain in detail how to take trades in favor of the trend using SMC analysis in practice! I show the right way to trade with the trend and when it really makes sense to take trades in favor of the trend and when it makes sense to take trades against the trend with the smart money concept.
