Mid-July (July 10-17) is bustling with activity in the garden, but it's also a time to tackle a few key tasks. The weather is changing, and after a wave of rainfall, a sunny week awaits. It's the perfect time to help your plants and prepare your vegetable garden for the second half of the season. In today's video, I discuss 5 tasks worth considering now: 1. Protecting against fungal diseases after rain (using organic sprays, such as Agro ECA Protect) 2. Harvesting root and bulb vegetables (onions, garlic, early potatoes, beets, carrots – the perfect quarter moon!) 3. What to do after harvest? Sowing vegetables and green manures (so the bed doesn't end up empty!) 4️⃣ Summer pruning: strawberries (mowing leaves and fertilizing with compost/granular manure), cherries, sweet cherries, and currants 5️⃣ Planting: time for new plants!
