Flip Flops Lost in the Woods

The day after a rainstorm and its still grey and cold outside, what better way to spend your day then taking a hike through the woods in a pair of flip flops? Things start out well enough, but I decide to take it off path and try and climbing over some rocks. This proves to be tricky, as I keep slipping, almost losing a flip flop as I do. Nearly to the top, one of them falls off, and plummets to the ground. I can't climb down as it was hard enough to just get up there, so I continue on without it. Getting back onto the path, I continue on, but have to stop and massage my bare foot for a moment and try to get some of the newly acquired dirt off of it. I examine my remaining flip flop, eventually pressing on. As I continue down the path, it soon turns to sand, which is a lot easier on my bare foot, but it soon gives way to stones, so I move back to the dirt path. This in turn gives way to mud, and my remaining flip flop starts to stick. A few steps through and it slips off. I have to stop to retrieve it, but its not too soon before I get stuck again and off it comes. Frustrated and tired, I just move on, leaving it behind. Its gonna be a tough walk home...
