Royal Marines intercept Russian shadow fleet tanker
Royal Marine commandos boarded the Russian shadow fleet tanker - the Smyrtos - early this morning in a six hour operation, backed by British military aircraft, a frigate and a minehunter. The vessel has been accused of exporting Russian oil products for at least a year - in breach of international sanctions. Ukraine's foreign minister welcomed the raid, saying "every such vessel stopped, means less money for the Russian war machine".
