The Evo 8 build is finally getting precise. This week we finish the timing setup, install the Kiggly 12-1 crank trigger, modify the cam sensor wheel, and add the Torque Solution cam sensor relocation kit. These are the details that make it all come together. In this episode I explain why upgrading from a 2-tooth to a 12-1 crank trigger gives the ECU a much clearer picture of what the engine is doing. I also show why we remove one of the cam trigger teeth for a single clean sync signal, and how these upgrades come together to make the car’s timing rock-solid.
