Quality quilting fabric can be expensive, and this video tackles the question of where to find cheaper options. I put budget-friendly sewing fabric from retailers like Shein and Temu head-to-head to see if they are suitable for quilting. I’ve used a Moda fat quarter for comparison, and for fairness I’ve used the same sewing machine, needle, thread and stitch length throughout. I test how each fabric feels, cuts, sews, presses, and washes, and most importantly, whether it will help or hinder you as a beginner, or if you’re budget conscious.
