Slow Winter Days in England | A Quiet Romantic Escape to Rye

Join us on a gentle winter escape — quiet streets, simple moments and the calm we all crave… with a few birthday moments along the way . Welcome to a quiet, slow-living vlog — a gentle winter escape where most of the story is told through images, soft sounds soft music and simple moments. Feel free to turn on subtitles and choose your language in the settings to follow the story more closely The day began quietly as I headed out to work on my own, getting ready for the day, driving to work, and later celebrating my fiftieth birthday with a cosy dinner in Hamble-le-Rice, at The King and Queen. The next morning, I pack a small bag for a winter getaway, and we head to Rye, one of the most beautiful places in East Sussex. We stay and dine at The Standard Inn, is wonderfully pet-friendly, and Alma was welcome in the restaurant and in our room — she loved it . Wander through its magical medieval streets, visit the peaceful church tower, and enjoy the stillness of a cold winter day. We then visit Winchelsea, a tiny historic village once part of the Cinque Ports, where medieval ruins, stained-glass light and countryside views invite you to slow down. Along the way there are cosy pubs, antiques, storybook streets, simple meals, watercolours, winter light… and little moments at home that warm the heart.
