Day 34 of our honeymoon, after reaching our long-awaited destination, Ushuaia, it's time to return home! We departed from Balcarce for Tandil. Tandil is a city located in the central-eastern part of the province of Buenos Aires. It lies atop the Tandilia mountain range. It was founded by Brigadier General Martín Rodríguez, governor of the province of Buenos Aires, in 1823, under the name Fuerte Independencia. Its initial population was 400, and it had to endure constant siege by indigenous people, who tried to prevent the settlement from becoming established. In recent years, the city has experienced significant population growth, above the Argentine average, and currently has more than 150,000 inhabitants.
