Backpacking & Fishing The 20 Lakes Basin - Inyo National Forest - Eastern Sierra Fishing

Over Labor Day weekend, Monica, David, Bill, and I backpacked into the 20 Lakes Basin above Saddlebag Lake. We spent 3 days and 2 nights back there exploring the area. We caught a lot of brook trout and even got into the elusive Golden Trout! Along the 20 lakes basin loop you have great views of Mt. Conness, the Conness Glacier, and North Peak. There is also an option to go down into Lundy Lake if you'd like. Some of the lakes we passed by were Saddlebag Lake, Greenstone Lake, Wasco Lake, Cascade Lakes, Steelhead Lake, Lake Helen, Hummingbird Lake, Odell Lake, & Shamrock Lake. We used Shamrock Lake as our base camp for this trip.
