Why There’s a British Town in this Jungle

This story starts in a quiet valley. Today it looks normal, but this was once the place where a dam broke and a whole town was lost. I went there to see what is left and to follow the story up the mountain. In Kuala Kubu Bharu I met Rahim, a local gardener who has spent years collecting maps, letters and stories about the old floods, the lost hill station of Bukit Kutu and the rise of Fraser’s Hill. He showed me documents I had never seen before. That meeting changed the whole direction of my trip. From the valley I rode up through The Gap and explored the abandoned rest house that used to control the one way system. It feels like a ghost gateway into the mountain. Higher up the air turns cold and the landscape starts to look like a small British world hidden in the jungle. This video is not only about history.
