Odyssey Driver's Side Power Sliding Door Fix for a driver's side door

A while back our 2010 Honda Odyssey developed an issue with the driver’s side power sliding door. The first thing we noticed was that the power sliding door wouldn’t open when the button on the remote or on the dash was pressed. Then I realized that the door wasn’t even unlocking. The power door lock wouldn’t unlock by remote or by the power door lock switch. When I tried to manually unlock the door, the lock would quickly relock. The only way to unlock and open the door was to manually push up and hold on the door lock until the lock would stay unlocked. Then the door could be manually opened and closed. The door alarm would sound each time the door was opened manually. My first thought was that the door lock actuator had gone bad, but then I realized that the door would lock remotely, by the switch, or when the vehicle was put into gear. So, the actuator was working. It took me a while the issue and I couldn’t find the information online. I finally realized that there was a switch that would depress when the gas door was closed. I messed around with this switch and I could occasional get the door to unlock by remote when the plunger on the switch was depressed. This is a safety switch that will disable the driver’s side sliding door when the fuel door is open. The next challenge was finding the part. I searched for “gas door sensor”, “gas door switch”, “fuel door sensor”, and “fuel door switch”. Turns out that the part description doesn’t mention the gas door at all. I finally found the part I was looking for by looking over the parts diagrams on the Honda parts website. The part name is “Cable, Slide Door Stopper Sensor”. 1999-2004 Honda Odyssey - Part # 74380-S0X-A01 (https://amzn.to/3tOCsBV) 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey - Part # 74380-SHJ-A01 2011-2017 Honda Odyssey - Part # 74380-TK8-A01 Since I couldn’t find the information when I was searching for it, I decided to make a short video. I’m not really doing a walkthrough or giving in-depth instructions, but for the most part this video shows how I accessed and replaced the part to have a working door again. I have sped up the video to help make it less boring. Hopefully, this information will be helpful for someone.
