Tactical MiTM for Attack and Defense
SANS PenTest HackFest 2022 Speaker: James Shewmaker, Principal Instructor, SANS Institute Many offensive security professionals use MiTM techniques to further their progress into networked systems. The same concept can be applied to enable eavesdropping and manipulation on multiple layers. Numerous technologies intended for administrative use and powerful weapon when abused by an attacker. The good news is that creative repurposing of MiTM techniques can be used for either attack or defense in tactical situations. This presentation focuses on two scenarios: one is a defensive twist to ARP poisoning MiTM as a defense and function hooking for either attack or defense.
