020 Utah Spartan Sprint 5K - Saturday

This video is getting bumped ahead of the queue. I have videos scheduled out for months, but this one felt like it needed to come out now. This Spartan race was so much harder than the one I did back in Florida. My wife and I started casually training while we were building our retention wall, and watching her progress has been incredible. She went from needing assistance with pull-ups to eventually doing them on her own. My left elbow injury took away a lot of my strength in that arm. My knee gave out in the hotel the night before the race. And honestly… I was just not in the shape I needed to be. What I did not prepare for was the mountain. The steep climbs were brutal. After every climb and descent, I kept thinking, “Surely that was the last one.” Then there was another. And another. Some sections had us carrying weighted bags and buckets uphill, and mentally, that was the toughest part. But the biggest highlight was watching my wife absolutely crush it. Seeing her go from nervous and scared to laughing, singing, helping others, and pushing herself through every obstacle was amazing. We recently celebrated 12 years of marriage, and one of my favorite parts of our relationship has been how we continue helping each other level up. This race reminded me that sometimes the biggest victories aren’t about finishing first or being the strongest. They’re about showing up, struggling together, and proving to yourself that you can do more than you thought. If you’ve ever been on the fence about trying something like this ... do it. Just a warning… if it’s on a mountain, maybe train with some hikes first. Your calves, ankles, and lungs will thank you. 😂 #SpartanRace #ObstacleCourseRace #FitnessJourney #CouplesThatTrainTogether #FunctionalFitness #KeepImproving #ProjectsProjectsProjects
