Application of a Kendrick Traction Device

Application of a Kendrick Traction Device for a lower limb fracture. This is one of a series of podcasts on the application of splints for lower limb long bone injuries. The Kendrick Traction Device is commonly used in pre-hospital care, mountain rescue and by military medics. It is compact and quickly applied. It is not as robust as a Thomas Splint or Sager Splint and does not give as reliable traction as the poles tend to bend. The Orthocycle Foundation is a registered charity in the UK. We recycle medical devices for less developed countries, and we also provide training both in the UK and face to face training in low and middle income countries in the use of circular external fixators.
