Switch Mode Power Supply / Battery Charger Repair KT12SM

I volunteer at the local repair café and the organiser brought in the switch mode power supply / battery charger for his caravan (model KT12SM made by PLUG-IN-SYSTEMS). It was quite busy on the day, and I didn't really get a chance to look over it, so let's get it on the bench, diagnose the problem, and hopefully get it working again. I'll also explain the basic operation of how they work, and some advantages and disadvantages of them over linear power supplies. I'm not an expert, this video should be used for entertainment only. I may do (and probably will do) things that may not be the correct way or safe! I love fixing stuff, and have pretty much repaired all kinds of different things since I was a child.
