Philippe Juvin : « Les écolos ont quasiment interdit la climatisation »

As France experiences its second heatwave, some forecasters are predicting temperatures exceeding 40°C next week. This heatwave is impacting education, work schedules, and the overcrowding of emergency rooms. The head of the Emergency Department at Georges Pompidou Hospital and a member of parliament (LR) for Hauts-de-Seine was a guest on the morning show "Bonjour Chez Vous." He believes that healthcare workers would be able to work in better conditions with air conditioning: "And I'm thinking of operating rooms; all operating rooms should be air-conditioned." When asked about the motion of no confidence initiated by the Greens, which targets the government's handling of the heatwave, the head of the emergency department was perplexed: "Look, it's a strong political statement. (...) But the government isn't responsible for the heat. And it's certainly not the current government that's responsible for the fact that the hospitals aren't "Air-conditioned." He is rather categorical regarding the EELV party: "I also ask the Greens to take their share of responsibility. For 25 years they've been cursing us when we talk about air conditioning. There have always been people in society, throughout history, who have explained that they confuse virtue with punishment." The MP continues, explaining: "They practically banned air conditioning for years.
