Biman Bangladesh Airlines returns to Manchester Airport- Celebration Ceremony

On Sunday 5th January Biman Bangladesh Airlines returned to Manchester, commencing a new 3 weekly service to Dhaka and Sylhet. Last serving the airport in 2012 the airline was welcomed back to celebrate the new service, attended by civic leaders and representatives from the airline and the Bangladeshi community. With over 70,000 people of Bangladeshi origin living in the North, this new route has been welcomed greatly by the community and already proving extremely with both the inbound and outbound flights operating completely full. The route will operate 3 times a week, on Sunday's, Tuesday's and Thursdays, operated by a two class Boeing 787-9 aircraft, of which Biman have just taken delivery of in the last month. The airport put on a fantastic celebration ceremony to welcome the airline, with celebrations at both check-in and the gate for passengers and media. Traditional Bangladeshi dancers performed and a range of Bangladeshi cuisine was served. Representatives from both the airport and airline gave speeches to celebrate the new route.
