This time, we’re featuring WOO-EEE-WOO STORE, located in Komagome, Tokyo. WOO-EEE-WOO STORE is a warm, welcoming record shop centered around jazz and rare groove, curated entirely by owner Mr. Hayashi’s personal taste. The shop’s unique name comes from the word “WOO-EEE-WOO,” which appeared in a book he once read—it was a chant used by a cult group on the U.S. West Coast during their rituals. After opening originally in Hakusan and later moving to Komagome, the shop relocated once again within Komagome in 2025, now operating in its current location. Rather than organizing records by genre, Hayashi has arranged the store to encourage intuitive browsing, allowing each visitor to discover new and unexpected sounds. The shop also hosts in-store events, serving as a space where people can connect through music.
