SPOOKY Apothecary Cabinet Halloween 2021 DIY (Dollar Tree) Hacks
A spooky Hocus Pocus halloween apothecary for all your witchy needs. I used Dollar Tree and Target Dollar Spot items to put together this fun apothecary cabinet perfect for a witch and halloween. To top my apothecary cabinet, I hand painted a giant wood sign for my apothecary. I took a thrift flip wood sign, painted it black with chalk paint by Waverly in the color ink. I used my Cricut design space to design the stencil. The fonts I used were: Luminari for almost everything Belwe Std Med for the Potions Tonics Elixirs line I applied the vinyl stencil and painted the design onto the apothecary sign with ivory chalk paint by Waverly. I then made a potions pennant banner using a potion sign from the Dollar Tree and some small skulls from DT. Simply stringing them on twine from DT. I used creepy cloth from the Dollar Tree to string on the top of my apothecary cabinet. On the first shelf, I decorate the back with black paper bats that I got at the Target Dollar spot. 3 bats to decorate the background a bit. I found a great shelf from Target Dollar Spot. It is white and so I paint it black with ink chalk paint by Waverly. This is the perfect place to display my witch potions and tonics. I attach a Hocus Pocus sign that I already had to the top because I love that movie. LOL I add some potion graduated cylinders and vials that I got at the Target Dollar spot in orange, purple and black. I am using some black risers from Target Dollar Spot as well. I found 4 potion bottles from Dollar Tree in purple, orange, yellow and black. I distress the potion labels with antique wax by Waverly. I do the same thing to 4 potion vials that I found from Target Dollar Spot. I fill the bottles with water, using food coloring to dye the potions different colors. I use sand bottles from the Dollar Tree to make my own potion bottles as well using these great printable and mod podge. Here is a link to the free printable potion labels : https://holidappy.com/holidays/free-h... I also use some tiny potion bottles that I got from Dollar Tree, using printable potion labels from the same website. I attach to the tiny bottles with mod podge and fill the tiny bottles with beads from Dollar Tree in different colors. I have a carnivorous plant display from the Halloween section at Target. I then make my own potion book from Hocus Pocus with a book from Dollar Tree. I paint the paper edges gold and mod podge on spell pages from this link. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=h... I next make my own wood apothecary cabinet. I used 6 wood cubes from Dollar Tree with the drawers. I glue them together and stain the cabinet with antique wax by Waverly. I then decorate the drawer fronts with free printable from this website: https://www.thehousewifemodern.com/bl... I arrange the shelf and decorate with creepy cloth, plant stems, books from dollar tree, rats, skulls. The next shelf gets a witch cauldron and lazy Susan rack from Target dollar Spot. I decorate this shelf with jars from Dollar Tree. I fill one with bones from DT, eyeballs from DT, hands from DT, bats from dollar spot, zombie fingers suckers from DT, skulls from DT. I decorate the entire shelf with Spanish moss for a creepy feel. I fill a cloche from Dollar Tree with a skeleton from DT, a bird skeleton from DT, a spider from DT, a rat skeleton from DT. I rearrange the pennant banner, the cauldron, the potions. I add a bat candle stick from target dollar spot. I decorate the potion shelf with Spanish moss as well. The final touch is a color changing potion bottle from dollar spot. What did you think about my Hocus Pocus themed witch apothecary for Halloween? What was your favorite project?
