Mount Morpheus - North Bend, Washington

Mount Morpheus is a remote and rarely visited summit near North Bend in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, known for its rugged terrain and untamed character. An ascent of Mount Morpheus involves demanding off-trail travel through dense vegetation, steep slopes, and extensive talus fields. In this video, we approach via the Taylor River before following the unofficial Dog Mountain fishermen’s route to Anderson Lake. From the lake, the climb becomes significantly more difficult, with steep terrain and challenging route-finding regardless of the line you take. Beyond the first ridgeline, the terrain opens to sweeping views of snow-covered Cascade peaks.
